The simple explanation

The Knee is a mechanical hinge and its major motion is flexion and extension.   Alignment of the Femur (above knee) and Tibia Fibula (below knee) is only one of many conditions that is evaluated.   Cartilage damage and soft tissue structures insiode of the knee can be affected.   

Pronation (collapse of the arch of the foot) on Transverse Plane Knee Mechanics is best treated with custom medical grade foot orthotics.
